OMG! You've created a masterpiece! All those details, animations, effects, sounds. I can't even believe it's true! Perfect quality mod. Every delorean build has its own set of effects from movies. It feels like it's a work from a highly devoted BTTF movie fans. Just WOW! One day if somebody writes a book about history of GTA modding this mod should be mentioned as one of the highest achievements of modding community.
@gtavjamal K. thanks.
I guess I'll just do full install and hope for the best
@happysquidbob The vehicles in BTTFV are not just "dumb" vehicle mods like a bunch of addon vehicles are. There are components and even entire portions of the model itself that are directly controlled by the script. So no, the script is necessary for the vehicles to work correctly.
@nomakewan Got it.
So anyway, I installed BTTFV, followed all instructions and checked requirements. I'm getting game launch fail after like 3 seconds (before rockstar logo). No messages from windows about it. BTTFV bug reports says "FILE NOT FOUND: ScriptHookVDotNet.log" and "FILE NOT FOUND: settings.ini". IDK if that has anything to do with problem.
Any help appreciated
@happysquidbob That has nothing to do with the problem. Your problem is most likely going to be that you're on a newer game version than 1.0.3179.0. Every version after that causes ScriptHookVDotNet (which BTTFV relies on) to crash the game. It's not BTTFV's fault.
Either downgrade to 3179 or older, or experiment with ScriptHookVDotNet Nightly.
Following other's advice, I replaced 'update.rpf' in 'mods/update' with (copied) 'update.rpf' from 'Grand Theft Au.../update' . That got the game starting normally. Note: game version is 1.0.3095.0. I saw BTTFV loading at top left of screen for about 5 mins. I repeatedly tried ctrl + f8 to open BTTFV menu but nothing happened. Note: I used BTTFV installer for install.. Looking on youtube videos and whatnot, the ctrl + f8 not working issue is somewhat common.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
@happysquidbob It's common because it means someone screwed up installing BTTFV. Of course if you mess up the install, the menu isn't going to happen. What's likely happening to you now is that if you press F4 to bring up the SHVDN console, you'll see an error that reads:
System.Exception: dmc12_rpm_needle not present!
This is because you did the install incorrectly. If you used our installer, note that it contains a gameconfig for version 2944 of GTAV (because on our Discord you will find instructions on how to downgrade to 2944). If you want to use 3095, then after following the installation, you will need to install a gameconfig for version 3095. For example: https://github.com/pnwparksfan/gameconfig/releases/tag/v3095
As a further note, you'll get way, way faster support if you just join our Discord and ask for support in the #support channel. You've been posting in the comments section here for several days when all your questions and issues could've been resolved in mere hours and without all the guesswork. Highly recommended.
Yeah I see in bug report: '[ERROR] Caught fatal unhandled exception: i
System.Exception: dmc12_rpm_needle not present!.'
I did try discord link, landed on 'you got invite'. it didn't work. I think I need setup discord account.
So, I need game config for my version.
I'll get on that. Thanks
@nomakewan Boss, before the next release can the team re-review the flying Delorean wheel sequence please?
To my eyes the wheel sequence looked more accurate in 1.1F compared to 2.3.2.
Hard to describe in text but in the film what I see they look to go out and turn without being fully extended sideways as in 1.1F but in 2.3.2 they extended out a full wheel width then turn.
Film
https://youtu.be/VO4ebmJHFF0?t=107
1.1F
https://youtu.be/hqKg90k9fQg?t=1297
2.3.2
https://youtu.be/CQbEaP6vGak?t=169
Note: Not hating purely meant as constructive criticism. No bs this is literally my #1 favorite mod, thanks again to all involved!!
@nomakewan PS. Forgot to say the video example of 2.3.2 I used is your beta but I meant the wheels act the same as 2.3.2, I couldn't find a 2.3.2 video.. Also of course I could be wrong about the wheels but thanks in advance for checking it out.
@gtavjamal There is an error in BTTFV 2.0~2.3.2 regarding the hover wheels (the offsets are wrong) which is fixed for the next version. But if you think there's an animation error, that I'm just not seeing. The 1.1F video you showed has the guy already moving at high speed before transforming. The 2.3.2 video doesn't even show our DeLorean (it's a beta feature specific to the Deluxo, not the DMC-12).
In any case, I can't figure out what you're trying to explain. I don't recall why you weren't going to join the Discord but I'm going to recommend it again anyway. It would probably be easier to figure it out if we had the ability to discuss your concern in real-time.
I'm not saying there isn't a difference, mind you--I just can't tell what you're actually complaining about. I don't see it.
@nomakewan My bad I am probably seeing things all good thanks for taking a look man, I appreciate your time and efforts.
No Discord for me, long boring story but if I can borrow a friend's account I will.
Btw. This mod below seems to work fine alongside BTTFV allowing the engine and lights to stay on when getting out as sometimes was in the movie.
https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/iv-style-exit-vehicle-net
Also just messin' around, I aint no modder but I got the wipers working with Vehfuncs using kjb33's Delorean settings,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FLukrcTOOy6cWCOXoYu49rq0MStCb859/view?usp=sharing
and made back cable more asymmetric. Not that it was bad to begin with just looked too perfect and symmetrical, needs to look more homemade and fkd up imho.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MakTNHxkUJxb6tCXQUbD1pf_MUkjAl-a/view?usp=sharing
Note: This is just temporal experiment #1, the wipers are the wrong ones and cable needs to be more screen accurate etc which is an easy fix but but the good thing is it all works lol. My point is if there are any experts on the team who can include Vehfuncs wipers and do a better job than I did with the cable for the next release that would be awesome please.
@gtavjamal Unfortunately there aren't really any modelers left on the team who are willing to work on the car. We had one dude who literally randomly showed up one day and fixed a ton of accuracy issues with the car itself (mismatched color between hood and fenders, incorrect flux band model, incorrect flux capacitor interior detail, incorrect LOD1, incorrect dirt model, rear wheels on one side were offset a little further inside than the other side, etc etc etc etc) then vanished. But they weren't actually a part of the team officially (though I wish they were!!).
So if you're willing to help out, then by all means. However, note that BTTFV as a general rule does not include functions that -require- another unrelated mod in order to work. That said there is SO MUCH WRONG with our DMC-12 model even after that other dude came in and fixed a bunch of things, especially with the interior. So I mean, if you're offering, we're not going to say no. But it'll be way harder to collaborate without a way to communicate faster, and we all use a Discord server, so...yeah.
@nomakewan Bummer about that other dude hopefully another talented someone will come along.
Thanks but honestly I am not the guy you want lol. I wouldn't want to do a disservice to the legendary work. I tweak things for personal use but I aint no modder. That being said if it does help in any way of course I am happy to share my personal edits do with them as you want whatever. When I get time I will work on the cable more but here it is as of now.

Also included is my personal version which I turned off the generic Rockstar plate light via CodeWalker and used two illuminated texture pieces as fake plate lights. In the film to my eyes they don't really cast much light if any on the plate all you basically see is the 2 little plate light bars.
Note: Full credit to Madgaz for the initial base cable model. Madgaz has been MIA for over 9 years on this site and over a year on YouTube.
Yeah ideally that's the way to go not relying on other scripts. I haven't had any issues using that GTAIV style script or VehFuncsV with the BTTFV mod but of course everyone's game setup is different so results may vary.
PS. I wasn't aware as the story goes Doc Brown used a Porsche 928 engine that's badass!!

Makes the weather more like at the end of the 1st and 2nd films.
is there a sound file you have that i can add without using scripthook as well as a way to add all the effects again without scripthook figure cant hurt to ask?
@Comet0510 Your question does not make sense, and the answer of course is no. If you follow the Official BTTFV Installation Tutorial (video is in the gallery above) you'll find that BTTFV 2.3.2 works perfectly fine on the current version of GTAV. Just make sure you turn off BattlEye before entering single player.
@nomakewan my bad i only asked as i was trying to use this mod for a 5m server that doesn't use script hook
It would be amazing if it loaded the online maps when going to the future and unloading it while going to the past... It would make prefect sense.
I can't see to get back the dinput8.dll issue where it keeps being blocked by Battleye even if it's disabled in Rockstar Launcher and the Steam has -nobattleye in launch arguments. What else can I do^
